Congratulations to the Inaugural Peer Recovery Specialist Class of 2016!
On August 9th, this group became the first to complete the 46 hour Peer Recovery Specialist Training. Their completion of this training brings them one step closer to becoming NJ Certified Peer Recovery Specialists.
CARES is now offering the Ethical Perspectives for Peer Recovery Specialists training. This 16 hour class meets the Addiction Professionals Certification Board requirements for Ethics, for the Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist credential. It is the recommended class for those who have already taken the CCAR 30 hour Recovery Coach Academy.
The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) credential is administered by the Addiction Professionals Certification Board for the State of NJ. The CPRS credential is IC & RC compliant and those peers interested in multi-state reciprocity may sit for the IC & RC exam upon completion of the training and required hours. For more information about the CPRS credential and its requirements consult the Certification Board’s website at www.certbd.com.
